Residents Doctors Begin Indefinite Strike

Resident Doctors of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital have commenced strike in compliance with the directive from the President National Association of Resident Doctors to embark on an indefinite strike.

Amenze Obarisiagbon however reports that patients in the hospitals are receiving treatment and care from consultants and other Medical Health Workers.
Resident Doctors at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital have abandoned their duties in compliance to the indefinite strike directive by the national body of the association.

Contacted for comments the Chief Medical Director of UBTH, Darlington Obaseki said plans have been perfected to ensure patients at the hospital are not stranded as consultants, other health workers have been fully mobilized to provide medical services.

The President Association of Resident Doctors UBTH Doctor Eustance Oseghale enumerated some of their demands.
Some patients at the UBTH expressed delight that consultants are attending to them.
The association of resident Doctors on Tuesday called on all its members to down fools until the federal government attends to their demands.
