The 2013 Batch C Corp members posted to Edo State have been sworn-in at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Okada, the Administrative Headquarters of Ovia North Local Government.
Kingsley Ucheagbu reports that Edo State Governor advised the Corp members to utilize their service year to contribute in various areas that would ensure improvement in education, health care and national integration.
Swearing-in of the two thousand and eighty seven Batch C Corp members posted to Edo State by the representative of Edo State, Chief Judge, Justice Cromwell Idahosa.
Declaring the Batch C Orientation Course open, Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole represented by his deputy, Dr. Pius Odubu told the Batch C corp members that the people of Edo State are appreciative of the roles of their predecessors especially in the areas of education and health.
Edo State Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Mobilization, Lady Omorede Osifo assured the corp members that the state government would do all within its reach to complete the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp while the Edo State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Lanre Ologun encouraged the corp members to participate in all camp activities packaged to prepare them for the service year.
Some of the Batch C Corp members expressed their readiness for the twenty-one day orientation course.
Highpoints of the event were the inspection of a guard of honour mounted by the Batch C Corp members by the Edo State Governor, match past by the corp members, signing of the NYSC register and the ceremonial three hearty cheers by the corp members.
Part of activities for this year’s Batch C orientation course was the inspection of facilities at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Okada by the Edo State Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Mobilisation, Lady Omorede Osifo.
