2017 edition of ITV/Radio empowerment programme “Do It Yourself” opens

The 2017 edition of ITV/Radio entrepreneurial and empowerment programme, “Do It Yourself” has opened at the stations corporate office, Glass House on Airport Road, Benin City.

Kingsley Uchegbu reports that hundreds of participants from within and outside Edo State are undergoing training in Animal Husbandry, soap making and other vocations.

Declaring the empowerment programme open on behalf of the Board, Management and Staff of Independent Television and Radio, General Manager, Independent Radio, Pastor Dan Omozusi noted that the empowerment programme put together by ITV-Radio has produced many entrepreneurs who are contributing to the nation’s economy.

The training programme featured questions by participants on with answers provided by the Coordinator of the programme, acting General Manager, Independent Television, Mrs. Odun Balogun.

The participants divided into groups were lectured on the theoretical and practical aspects of Animal Husbandry and soap making by Resource Persons, Mr. Sunny Iyalekhue and Orobosa Ebohon .

Certificates were presented to participants at the end of the training by the Coordinator of the programme, Mrs Balogun.

Some participant described the training programme as an opportunity to make additional income and empower others commended the board, management and staff of ITV-Radio for the empowerment programme.

Do it yourself is an empowerment programme organised by ITV and Radio to encourage participants to be self-sufficient through training on various skills and vocations.
