Edo State Election Tribunal strikes out an aspect of Oshiomhole’s qualification

Edo State Election Tribunal has struck out an aspect of petition filed by General Charles Airhiavbere challenging the educational qualification of Governor Adams Oshiomhole to contest the governorship election.

The Tribunal in its ruling said it has no jurisdiction to hear the matter as it is a pre-election issue.

It, however, said it can hear the petition that the election was marred by irregularities in some wards and therefore fixed tomorrow, Friday, Twenty-eighth September, 2012 for hearing.

The Tribunal requested the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to produce certified true copy of the Voters Register at the hearing.
