Abuja attack at the legislative quarters was carried out by combined security forces – SSS

The State Security Service has said that Friday morning’s attack at the Legislative Quarters in Abuja was a raid carried out by combined security force.

Spokesperson for the SSS, Marilyn Ogar said the raid was prompted by reports received from two Boko Haram suspects, Kamal Abdullahi and Mohammed Adamu, that weapons were buried underneath the building.

The SSS spokesperson explained that on arriving the scene, security operatives began to dig for the weapons but came under attack by Boko Haram fighters in the area.

She said twelve people have been arrested while several others were wounded.

Meanwhile, the police in Abuja have confirmed that seven persons were shot dead in two uncompleted buildings behind the National Assembly Quarters, Apo, Abuja today.

The Assistant Commissioner of police in charge of Abuja Metro Area command, Mr Sunday Odukoya made the remark while reacting to the incident.

Mr Odukoya said the police have commenced full scale investigation into the incident.
