Activities marking the 2014 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration has been rounded off in Akure with the laying of wreaths at the Ondo State Cenotaph.
The occasion which attracted dignitaries across the State including Heads of Security Agencies in the State also featured inspection of Guard of Honour by the governor.
Governor Mimiko prayers for the families of fallen heroes and state firing the volley and presentation of cheques to the widows of the falling heroes stressing that the sacrifices of the heroes have kept Nigeria united.
Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko noted that governors will continue to ensure the well-being of the soldiers who are still alive and the widows of those who laid down their lives for unity of the country.
Doctor Mimiko urge the widows to make judicious use of the empowerment loan given, adding that they stand the chance of enjoying a double portion if faithful to the payment of the loan.
Ondo State Correspondent, Omorowa Jonah reports that twenty widows benefited from the loan.
