The Alhaji Kawu Baraje-led Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, splinter group says it has not formally merged with the All Progressives Congress, APC.
National Publicity Secretary of the group, Mr. Chukwuemeka Eze denied the merger while reacting to the media report on the alleged merger.
He said the group is still open to reconciliation, explaining that what happened on Tuesday, twenty-sixth of November, was a declaration of intent to merge.
According to Mr. Eze, the parties in the alliance just set up a committee to work on the conditions of the purported merger, adding that they cannot merge without conditions.
The National Publicity Secretary said the event which took place at the Kano Governors’ lodge in Abuja was misrepresented, adding that the parties involved were yet to sign the memorandum of understanding.
He said the group would attend the First of December peace meeting called by President Goodluck Jonathan, adding that all options are still on the table.
Mr. Eze said if the President agree to their conditions on issues that created the crisis, then they will not sign the MoU with APC, adding that anything is still possible till Tuesday, when they are expected to sign the MoU with APC.
According to him, if Governor Amaechi is returned as NGF Chairman, structures are returned to the governors of Adamawa, Kano and Rivers States, their leaders will look back and stop signing the MoU.
