Edo State gubernatorial candidate for All Nigerian Peoples Party, ANPP, Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri has visited the palace of Oba of Benin to obtain royal blessing for his political ambition.
Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri who is the consensus candidate of the Coalition of Progressive Political Parties informed the Oba that following the successful primaries of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), he emerged the flag bearer in the forthcoming Edo State Governorship Election.
He said the Coalition of Progressive Political Parties consists of ten political parties and that it is an existing agreement that the gubernatorial candidate will contest on a chosen platform and ANPP was chosen.
The Oba of Benin, Oba Erediawa having carefully listened to the Chief Edebiri appointed the Iyase of Benin Kingdom, Chief Sam Igbe to pray for him and his running mate, Felix Lemmy Konomoore.
Chief Steven Edosomwan, the Esere of Benin Kingdom advised the candidate and his campaign team to approach the election with tact and peaceful disposition.
The visit also features a question and answer session.
Meanwhile, Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri while answering questions from newsmen on the biological relationship between him and Chief Edebiri, the Esogban of Benin Kingdom, said there is no biological relationship as assumed in some quarters.
