APC releases time-table for primaries

The All Progressives Congress has released the timetable for its primaries ahead of the general elections in 2019.

The party made the announcement in a statement by its National Organising Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Ibediro.

The APC National Working Committee explained that the schedule was in line with the party’s guidelines for the conduct of primaries for the forthcoming polls as approved by its National Executive Committee.

The presidential primary is scheduled to hold on twentieth of September while governorship primaries will be conducted on the twenty-fifth of this month.

According to the timetable, members of the party aspiring to contest for the presidency are to pay forty million Naira and five million Naira for the nomination and expression of interest forms respectively.

In the same vein, governorship aspirants will pay twenty point five million Naira for the forms while those vying for Senate will pay seven million Naira , House of Representatives[three million, eight hundred and fifty thousand Naira and House of Assembly [ eight hundred and fifty thousand Naira ].

The APC said all payments should be made in full directly into its designated bank accounts.

The sale of forms will be followed by the APC Nationwide Congresses to elect delegates for other primaries.

However, the presidential primary will be decided by the direct system as adopted at the party’s National Executive Committee meeting.
