Army Demands For More Time To Capture Boko Haram Leader

The Theater Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru has requested for the extension of the deadline granted it by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai to capture the Boko Haram terrorists leader, Abubakar Shekau.

The Theater Commander made the request when the Chief of Army Staff visited the Command in Maiduguri.
Major-General Attahiru noted that giving deadlines and extensions are strategic means of focusing troops’ efforts in the theatre.

Responding, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai commended the Theater Commander, his Sector Commanders and all troops of the operation for zealously pursuing the directive of capturing the purported Boko Haram terrorists leader, Abubakar Shekau dead or alive within forty days beginning from twenty-first of July, 2017 which elapsed on thirtieth August 2017.
