Brig.-Gen. Emmaunel Atewe, Commander, Guards Brigade, Nigeria Army, on Wednesday in Abuja pledged the command’s continued collaboration with all security agencies to fight crimes.
Atewe gave the commitment when he received Mr. Aminu Kofar-Soro, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT Commandant.
He commended the cordial relationship among the NSCDC, the Nigeria Army and other agencies in the FCT.
He said the visit by the commandant and officers of NSCDC would further cement the relationship between both organisations.
“We will continue to cooperate and work together with the NSCDC and other security agencies for the betterment of the people and the peace of our country,” Atewe said.
Earlier, Kofar-Soro said the visit was in appreciation of its cooperation and concerted efforts towards the success of the NSCDC in fighting crimes.
“The FCT NSCDC command depends on the concerted efforts between it and the military to succeed in carrying out its mandates.
“We are grateful to the military for the successes through the training of our personnel; that has better equipped them for the fight against vandals and other criminal activities,” Kofarsoro said.
He said the NSCDC was willing to supply the military with intelligence on activities of criminals at entry and exit points of the FCT.
He solicited the cooperation and assistance of the army in efforts to arrest vandals of NNPC right of way, PHCN infrastructure, communication cables and other government infrastructure.
