Kwara Government has directed security agencies to arrest and prosecute anyone found disrupting the peace or engaging in violent activities in the area.
The directive followed recent cases of lawlessness in some parts of the state, particularly the harassment of construction workers and clashes between hoodlums in the state capital last Wednesday.
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Abdulwahab Oba, quoted the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold, as condemning the activities of the hoodlums.
According to the statement, Alhaji Gold said that government will not condone any acts of lawlessness and disorder under any guise.
He urged parents and guardians to warn their children and wards to abide by the law as government would prosecute anyone found disrupting public peace.
“The Secretary to the State Government has therefore assured law abiding citizens of the state to go about their normal businesses without any fear of molestation or intimidation,’’ he said.
