The Batch “B” NYSC members deployed to Edo State for the compulsory one year National service have formally round off the three week orientation course which saw the corp members through paramilitary drills, skills acquisition and series of lectures on topical issues as part of the one year mandatory service.
Addressing the gathering, Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole represented by his deputy, Dr. Pius Odubu commended the NYSC officials and other government agencies in collaboration with the NYSC.
Dr. Odubu charged the corp members to write their names in gold by contributing meaningfully to national development.
In her speech, the Chairman, NYSC Governing Board and Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Edo state, Miss Anita Evbuomwan commended the Corp members and the NYSC officials for their commitment to national duty.
On his part, the Coordinator, NYSC, Edo State, Barrister Adebayo Somefun on behalf of the Director General congratulated Comrade Adams Oshiomhole on his victory in the just concluded election.
Barrister Somefun spoke on the significance of the orientation course and urged employees to accept corp members posted to their organizations and adduced the corp members not to travel without permission.
There were buses from various local government areas in Edo State made available to ease corp members’ transportation to their various place of deployment.
