Voting in the supplementary governorship election in Bayelsa State has ended with the exercise adjudged as largely peaceful.
Reports say though pockets of violence and snatching of ballot boxes were recorded in some polling units, the intervention of security men however brought sanity back to the area.
Accreditation was extended beyond two O’clock in some areas owing to challenge in the movement of election materials were said to have arrived early at some polling units.
It was learnt that election materials arrived late at some polling
Units in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.
Voting took place in four hundred and twenty-five polling units in Southern Ijaw Local Government area where the first round of election was cancelled by the Independent National Electoral Commission,
Collation of results is said to be ongoing.
