Car rams into French soldiers injuring six

The police in Paris have a car has struck a group of soldiers in Paris, injuring six, with two of the solders seriously injured.

A massive and urgent police operation is now under way to find the vehicle and driver involved in the incident in the north-western suburb of Levallois-Perret.

The local mayor, Patrick Balkany, said he has no doubt that it was a deliberate act.

France has been under a state of emergency since November 2015.

It has seen a string of attacks on the security forces that are now a common sight on the streets.

On 13 November, 2016, one hundred and thirty people were killed in a night of carnage in Paris, and more than one hundred more have been killed in jihadist attacks.
