It was a Carnival of some sort at the Benin Airport, when Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri returned from Abuja where he went to pick his ANPP Governorship nomination form to contest for the Edo State July fourteenth Governorship Election.
Sharon Ajayi reports that the Governorship Aspirant was received by a large turnout of members of the Coalition of Progressive Political Parties, Edo State, Friends, Associates and well-wishers.
That was the scenario at the Benin airport, following the unprecedented crowd and members of the Coalition of Progressive Political Parties who turnout in their numbers to welcome their Edo State ANPP gubernatorial candidate, Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri who will contest the state July fourteenth governorship election.
Addressing the mammoth supporters, the ANPP State Chairman, Engineer Steven Aimufua said Chief Iyobosa Edebiri was chosen as the party’s flag bearer in view of his antecedents and managerial skills to deliver the much needed change and development needed in the state.
He called on the supporters to join hands together in ensuring that Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri emerges as the governor of Edo State come July fourteenth.
Also speaking at eh rally, Chairman of the parties in the Coalition of Progressive Political Parties said they decided to throw their weight behind Chief Edebiri because his is a man the people can trust.
They noted that they will not relent in ensuring that Chief Edebiri, an industrialist, philanthropist and a man who has the interest of the people at heart emerges as the next governor of Edo State.
Meanwhile, members of the Peoples Progressive Alliance, PPA headed by their Chairman, Comrade Cosmos Irhabor has formally declared their support for Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri and also joined the Coalition to support Chief Edebiri to actualize is governorship ambition.
In his remark, Chief Edebiri commended his supporters and members of the coalition for turning out enmass to welcome him from Abuja where he went to pick the ANPP governorship nomination form.
The governorship hopeful called on them to come out in same manner to vote him in the governorship election slated for fourteenth July, assuring that he will not let them down once he is given the mandate to serve.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of the ANPP governorship form to Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri by the ANPP South-South Chairman, Chief Livinus Okpuakpua.
The rally took the supporters through strategic streets in Benin to the campaign office.
