The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, has inaugurated the Architects Disciplinary Tribunal.
A statement by the CJN’s media aide, Ahuraka Isah, said that at the inauguration, the chairman, secretary, members and assessor of the tribunal took oaths of office administered by Justice Mohammed.
The current President of the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria, Umar Aliyu, was sworn in as the Chairman of the tribunal, while the Registrar of ARCON, Umar Saulawa Murnai, was inaugurated as the secretary
The CJN urged tribunal members to abide by their oath of office and oath of allegiance and be fair and just to those whose matters would be brought before them.
The tribunal chairman, Umar Aliyu, commended the CJN for making it possible for the tribunal to be duly inaugurated and vested with the legitimacy to act and noted that the inauguration of the tribunal had been delayed for the past six years, until the CJN’s intervention to constitute it.
