Court orders IGP to produce INEC Chaiman in court

Federal High Court, Abuja on Wednesday ordered the Inspector General of Police to produce the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu in court on August fourteen.

Justice Stephen Pam gave the order after counsel to INEC Chairman, Adegboyega Awomolo, told the court that he did not know where his client was.

Justice Pam said the bench warrant issued for the arrest of Professor Yakubu has not been vacated and still subsists.

He ordered the IG to enforce it by bringing the INEC Chairman to court on the next adjourned date.

Justice Pam adjourned the matter until August fourteen for continuation of committal proceedings.
