Cross River Chief Judge, Okoi Ikpi-Itam dies at 63

The Chief Judge of Cross River State, Justice Okoi Ikpi-Itam has died.

Justice Ikpi-Itam died on Saturday in Calabar after a brief illness at the age of sixty-three.

Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade, who consoled with the family of the late chief judge, described the deceased as a wonderful and peaceful man, who would always go for the option of peace.

The governor, accompanied by his wife, Linda and the Speaker of the House of Assembly, John Gaul-Lebo, to residence of the late chief judge, said the cordiality between the executive and judiciary arms was strengthened during Justice Ikpi-Itam’s reign.

Professor Ayade disclosed that he made frantic effort to take the deceased abroad for treatment before his sudden death.
