The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has told the State Security Service, SSS and the Nigeria Police Force not to allow the recent murder of their personnel in Nasarawa State to dampen their zeal.
He gave the advice in Abuja during his condolence visits to the Director-General of the SSS, Mr. Ekpenyong Ita and the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar.
A statement by the Special Adviser on Media to the Deputy Senate President, Mr. Uche Anichukwu quoted him as saying that the Senate was saddened by the development.
The statement assured the two security agencies that the Senate would do everything within its powers to ensure that the culprits are brought to justice.
Senator Ekweremadu decried the loss of sense of value for human lives in the country, saying that the development is not justified by modern civilisation and is out of tune with the country’s religious and cultural values.
