The Department of State Services has prevented personnel of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from arresting its a former Director-General, Ekpenyong Ita.
Report says EFCC officials arrived at the residence if the former Director-General with an arrest warrant and armed policemen numbering over fifty.
They were however prevented from entering the premises located at forty-six Mamman Nasir Street, Asokoro by heavily armed DSS officials.
The DSS officials said they were acting on orders from above.
The former DSS Director-General, Ekpeyong Ita has been under investigation for his alleged role in the disbursement of funds meant for arms.
The DSS and the EFCC have been at loggerheads for over a year.
