Residents of Evbotubu, Erhunmwunse and environs in Benin City have appealed to Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki to extend the ongoing road rehabilitation to their areas.
The residents while commending the State Governor for the achievements recorded in other areas, said if their roads are rehabilitated it will improve the social economic life of the people.
Work is ongoing at TV road, Ehiekpen and other roads around the palace of the Oba of Benin as equipment were on ground with some of the roads near completion.
Some residents of the areas who are full of excitement about the development thanked the state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki for rehabilitation of the roads.
While thanking the state governor for the other roads he has done, residents of Erhunmwunse, Nosayaba, Adolor Off Erhunmwunse and second cemetery, Eghosa by Erhunmwunse, Ebvotubu amongst others appealed to the state governor to come to their aid as they can no longer drive their cars to their homes owing to the deplorable state of the roads.
Some commercial drivers using the bad roads said they are faced with the challenges of repairs on their vehicles on daily basis.
Edo State Commissioner for Infrastructure, Engineer Amiolemen Osahon in a previous interview with Independent Television and Radio said the state government will be paying attention to more of the roads after the rains.
