Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile has expressed optimism that Nigeria will qualify for 2019 African cup of Nations despite the team’s dismal two goals to nil loss to Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
The AS Monaco of France player said the players are high motivated ahead of the next Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
On June 10th 2017 the Super Eagles of Nigeria opened their 2017 African cup of nations qualifiers account with a devastating loss to Bafana Bafana their first defeat in a competitive match to the South African team.
The loss that left the team in the third position of Group created doubts in minds of sports enthusiasts about the possibility of super eagles securing qualification to the African cup of nation’s next edition.
The AS Monaco player who was part of the side that won the trophy in 2013 under late coach Steven Keshi said the team is working hard to qualify as group winner.
The Igueben born and Former Bendel Insurance player while reaching to the insinuation of moving the venue of the super eagle’s next home game away from Uyo, said irrespective of the venue of the qualifier the team will do well but added that the hospitality at Akwa Ibom is highly commendable.
South Africa will host the Super Eagles in March 2017 but the immediate task for Super Eagles is a two legged encounter against the reigns Africa King, Cameroon Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in August later in the year.
