The ECOWAS Community Court of Justice has been enjoined to sustain the dispensation of justice in line with the dictates of the law.
Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole stated this when he granted audience to a delegation of the court, led by its President, Justice Awa Nana Daboya in Government House, Benin.
Welcoming the delegation to Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole observed that to have a regulated society the need for a court whose judgments are respected cannot be over-emphasized. Comrade Oshiomhole represented by his deputy, Doctor Pius Odubu stressed the need for the ECOWAS Community of Justice to publicise its jurisdiction to make people conversant with its functions.
The governor appealed to the court to remain unbiased in its judgments which are binding on member states. He assured the court that Nigeria will continue to play its big brother role in African affairs.
Earlier, President, ECOWAS Community Court of Justice, Justice Awa Nana Daboya who spoke through an interpreter, Dr. Felix Ike said they are in Edo State to intimate the people on their activities. Justice Daboya said the court was established in 2001 with seven judges from seven member states of ECOWAS.
Top government functionaries were on ground to receive the delegation from ECOWAS Community Court of Justice.
