ECOWAS leaders pledge $1B to combat threat of Islamist Militancy

ECOWAS leaders have pledged one billion dollars to combat the spiraling threat of Islamist militancy in the region.

ECOWAS President, Mahamadou Issoufou, who disclosed this at the end of the ECOWAS Summit on terrorism, said the money would finance the joint forces and intelligence gathering.
