EDHA concludes 2 days public hearing on Grazing Bill

Edo State House of Assembly has rounded off the two day public hearing on grazing bill with a promise to liaise with the executive and annex other submissions of the various participants in its bid to enacting an acceptable law that will check the excesses of the herdsmen.

Some farmers claim that there was no adequate sensitization and awareness in the rural areas, which according to them would have enabled the victims of the alleged attacks of herdsmen to participate in the public hearing on the grazing bill. They recounted the ordeal they have been going through in the hands of herdsmen.

Others who commented on the public hearing expressed optimism that the House of Assembly will do a good job said grazing field for the herdsmen should not be the responsibility of government as it is a private business.
