EDHA directs Eragwa Farms in Orogho community to stop harvesting

Edo State House of Assembly has directed Eragwaa Farms to immediately stop harvesting crops in their farm located in Orogho Community, Orhionmwon Local Government Area.

This was sequel to a debate over the preliminary report submitted to the house by the Agriculture committee as a result of a petition sent to the house by the farmers from the community.

The resolution of the house was sequel to the report by the committee which was vehemently kicked against by some members led by the chief whip Osaigbovo Iyoha.
According to them they said the committee did not do a proper job hence the need for the report to be dropped as Eragwa farms product might become perishable if they are not allowed to harvest.

However, those for the report to sail through and Eragwa farms be stopped from harvesting their crops pending determination of the matter led by the deputy speaker Victor Edoror said the non-refusal of the farm owner not to honour invitation is even a slight to the house.

The speaker Kabiru Adjoto summed up deliberation this way.

The house also at plenary received a petition turtles illegal occupation of 12 hectares of land belonging to Uzea community by a China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Nigeria Limited.

The refer the petition to the committee on housing and Urban planning to report to the house within two weeks. Meanwhile the house has rounded up the third quarter third session of the sixth Assembly.

According to the Speaker, Kabiru Adjoto the house passed five bills treated many petitions and adopted many resolutions during the period under review.
The house then adjourned till April 30, 2018.
