Edo State House of Assembly has set up a seven- man ad-hoc committee to investigate reasons behind the non -functioning of the ultra -modern Central hospital to function two years after its inauguration by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The setting investigation follows a petition received by the house from some members of a civil society group in Benin.
The members of the committee are Damian Lawani chairman, while other members are Monday Ehigualua, Chief Whip, Iyoha Osaigbovo, Foly Ogedengbe, Godwin Adenomo and Sunday Osazinwende.
The Speaker Kabiru Adjoto while announcing the names enjoined them to do a thorough job so that Edo people who they represent will no the true state of the ultra-modern Central hospital.
The committee has two weeks to submit its report.
The legislative arm is also set to pass a bill to check Secret cult activities in the state in a bid to prosecuting offenders.
This was sequel to a request from the state Governor Godwin Obaseki on the issue.
