Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has clarified issues airing from recent good governance tour concerning on-going project at five junction.
The Governor, who was on inspection of projects in some parts of Benin metropolis, invited the RCC Contractor who dismissed claims by the Minister of Works that the project was awarded by the Federal Government.
The contractor Yarniv Daba who said the project will be completed within the next two weeks clarified that the project was awarded to his company the RCC by Edo State Government.
Comrade Oshiomhole who expressed satisfaction at the quality and pace of work at five junction roundabout, but however advised the contractor to erect a sign post to further dismiss the claim by the Minister of Works during the town hall meeting held after the recent good governance tour of the state.
Though contractors were not on site at the time of the government’s visit to five junction roundabout, it was observed that the project has reached on advance stage with street lights completed, larger percentage of the drainage and walkways are also in place.
Work is in progress at the ongoing drainage project that will deflood the axis handling the five junction anytime it rains.
The inadequacies of the committee on War Against Indiscipline and other relevant agencies has continued to rear its head anytime the governor visits major markets in Benin.
It has always been a case of the governor trying to restore normalcy by ensuring that people don’t display their wares on walkways and dump refuse indiscriminately.
Goods and motorcycles were confiscated were confiscated when the governor drove through Mission road to inspect projects.
