Edo poll: PDP decides not to file petition – Orbih

The leadership of the People’s Democratic Party, Edo State Chapter says the party has decided not to file any petition before the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.

A statement by the State Chairman of the party, Chief Dan Osi Orbih explains that the decision was taken in the interest of the state.

Chief Orbih said the state chapter of the party engaged in consultations with the leadership of the Party, both within and outside the State, adding that in the course of the consultations, legal opinions was sought and mindful of the consequences which the state may run into with protracted litigation.

The statement further stated that genuine members of the party worked hard to secure victory and ensure the governorship candidate, Major-General Charles Airhiavbere, retired was elected.

Chief Orbih assured that the commitment, sacrifices and pains which the people have endured will not be in vain.

The State PDP Chairman urged Edo people to be ready to reposition the party for future elections.
