Edo PDP urges state government to stop alleged sales of state assets

Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has called on the State Government to stop the alleged sales of some of the state assets to persons the party described as friends of the APC.

Chairman of PDP, Chief Dan Orbih stated this when he inaugurated grassroot committee aimed at mobilizing for the party ahead of future elections.

Meanwhile, Edo State Government has challenged the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State to come forward with documents to prove that they Rubber Processing Plant in Benin, the Oil Palm Mill at Ekpoma and the Rice Mill at Ubiaja have been sold.

Reacting via a telephone interview, the Special Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Media and Communication, Mr. Crusoe Osagie said the PDP is known for fabricating non-existing stories, maintaining that all the allegations raised in the past by the Edo State chapter of PDP have never been backed up with documents.

Mr. Osagie said Governor Godwin Obaseki cannot sell Edo State assets without following due process of seeking the approval of the State House of Assembly.

He called on the people of Edo State to disregard the allegations of the PDP, which he described as raising false alarm.
