Edo State Police Command today paraded Syndicate of suspected armed robbers, who have been terrorizing residents of Benin metropolis.
The State Police Commissioner, Mr. Olayinka Balogun at a news briefing reiterated the determination of the command to reduce crime to the barest minimum.
He said the robbery suspects were apprehended after unleashing terror on a guest house and dispossessing a banker of his valuables.
Mr. Balogun told newsmen that a suspect currently in the police custody assisted the police with information that prompted the police to swing into action.
He explained that luck ran out on the robbery suspects after a gun battle, which led to their arrest. He disclosed that several live ammunition and weapons including AK-47 magazine were recovered from the suspects.
In an interview, the suspects including the leader of the gang, Kelly Eyawe spoke on their level of involvement in the alleged crime.
Other items recovered from the suspects are twenty two handsets, three cut to size double barrel guns, fourteen live cartridges, thirty rounds of AK-47 magazine, keys to bank safe and recharge cards.
