Edo State ALGON vows to resist plot to sabotage outcome of people oriented second term victory of Gov. Obaseki

Edo State chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, has issued a stern warning to persons, who might be engaged in sinister plots to overturn the result of the just concluded Edo State governorship election.

ALGON in a statement signed by its Edo State Chairman, Mr. Evbareke Osunde and all the Chairmen of Local Government in the state, said Edo voters have responded to the call of history, adding that any attempt to invalidate the peoples’ mandate will be resisted by the association.

While emphasizing the significance of the role played by the people in ensuring the victory of the Governor, ALGON said the election represented an approximate constitutional and democratic seizure of power by the people as the legitimate repository of the political sovereignty.

The association said voters exhibited extra-ordinary sense of civics by rejecting and resisting the corruptive influence of undemocratic forces.
ALGON noted that as the election is over, it is now incumbent on all patriotic stakeholders to help to nurture an atmosphere of peace and cultivate the path of progress in Edo State for the benefit of the entire citizenry.
