Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has congratulated Edo citizens and Nigerians, who have continued to work towards actualizing the vision of a truly great and prosperous country.
Governor Obaseki’s message is contained in his statement as the country celebrates the sixtieth Independence anniversary.
The Governor also rejoiced with the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari on the auspicious occasion.
Governor Obaseki thanked God for preserving Nigerians as a people and ensuring that the labour of the heroes past has not been in vain despite the travails and challenges as a country.
He said the just concluded governorship poll in Edo State is evidence of the commitment of the government and people to deepen the democracy, which invariably is the instrument for the upliftment of the people and improving their collective wellbeing.
The Governor expressed confidence that after sixty years of nationhood and having surmounted numerous obstacles and uncertainties, Nigerians faith in the future of the country remain unwavering, as they continue to forge ahead as one indivisible and prosperous nation.
