The President, Edo United Germany, Morgan Ukponwan has on behalf of his members and the international community cautioned Nigerian youth from placing negative comments online via social media platforms about the traditional institution of the great Benin kingdom.

In a statement, Mr. Ukponwan who stated that the Oba is both the spiritual and ad head of traditional institutions in Benin kingdom in particular and Edo state in general said any attempt for anyone or group of persons to disrespect the Oba, his chiefs or the palace defendants is committing a sacrilegious act that is highly detestable by Benin people.

He said such person is an enemy of the Oba and could incur the wrath of the ancestors.

Mr, Ukponwan said since the coronation of Oba Ewuare the Second, there has been a lot of transformation in Benin kingdom which has brought about sanctity to villages and towns.

He called on Binis to work in a manner to curb the ugly trend of saying negative and disrespectful things about the palace on social media as it is their responsibility to protect the image of the Oba of Benin and preserve the sanctity of the palace and the revered throne of the monarch at all times.
