Chairman, Senate Committee on Education, Senator Uche Chukwumerije has commended the Lagos State Government for managing its education sector effectively.
Senator Chukwumerije stated this during the committee’s oversight visit to the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board and Olusosun Primary School in Lagos.
He said “the committee is impressed with education management in Lagos, which has eighty-five percent literacy levels, the highest in the country”.
The Chairman added that they are impressed with the quality of books, education materials, number of fortified teachers and the provision of child friendly school environment.
The Senator however, called on the private sector to join hands with the State Government to enhance the quality of education in the area.
