Some Educationists in Benin City have described the improvement in the 2017 May-June West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination as an indication of improved reading culture among students.
According to the educationists, the recently released May-June 2017 WAEC results where about sixty percent of candidates passed English and Mathematics is an improvement over the 2015 and 2016 result.
The respondents said with more investment in the education sector the situation of mass failure, which often characterized the performance of Nigerian candidates in the West African Senior School Examinations will be addressed.
The respondents have expressed optimism that with the successor story in the May/June 2017 WASSCE ongoing NECO Examination would produce better results for candidates in Edo State.
