The College of Medical Sciences University of Benin, Benin City has been rated one of the best in the country and the world at large, the Vice Chancellor, University of Benin, Professor Farade Orumwense made the remark during the swearing-in and oath-taking ceremony of the newly qualified medical and dental doctors of the University
Aigboje Ikhuoria reports that the ceremony was attended by guests, the registrar Dental and Medical Council of Nigeria and Senior Medical practitioners from within and outside the institution.

Congratulating the inductees for successfully completing their studies, the vice chancellor university of Benin professor farade Orumwense said the latest teaching aids in the college of Medical sciences and the University of Benin teaching hospital have continued to put the University’s medical graduates amongst the best both within and outside the country.
The Registrar Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria Doctor Tajundin Sanusi while congratulating the University for the achievements made so far sues for support for the college of Medical sciences and promise that the council will look into the increase of the quoater of numbers of students allotted to the University
The provost, college of Medical sciences professor V. I. Iyawe assures parents and guest present that the inductees have been given the best forms of training
Some parents and inductees thanked God for the day.
There was also good will messages and short address from deans, NMA, NDA and thevarious medical bodies present while guest lecture by Doctor Ruben Osahon of the department of Mental health based his lecture on the successful career of a doctor in the twenty first century Nigeria.
The 83 inductees are made up of 72 medical doctors from the school of Medicine and 11dental doctors from the school of dentistry
