The Secretary, Edo State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, Barrister Felix Omi Imoisili has declared his intention to contest for the Chairmanship position of the PDP in Edo State at the February 2020 Congress.
In a Press Release by his Media aide, Lucky Idiagi , he said the decision is predicated on a thorough reflection on the journey so far and identifying the core factors that will assist the party’s success in the 2020 governorship election.
While commending the efforts of all PDP leaders and members in the State for the organization and sustenance of the party, the statement added that it is crucial at this critical time of the party’s history to elect credible men and women committed to transparency and inclusiveness in the organization of the party at ward, local and State levels.
Mr. Idiagi therefore posited that Chief Felix Imoisili, the first Algon Secretary Edo State, a former Two-time Igueben Local Government Chairman with unparalleled achievements and the coordinating Secretary of PDP State Secretaries in Nigeria is a consummate Politician, Psychologist and Lawyer is offering himself for the position of Edo State PDP Chairman to engender strong mobilization across wards and local Governments in the State for the party’s success in forthcoming elections.
The statement which eulogized the PDP National Working Committee’s capacity to deliver a free and fair Congress maintained that when elected as PDP Chairman Edo State Chief Imoisili will ensure reconciliation of aggrieved members, accountable and judicious use of party funds, regular and periodic meetings and mobilization of more members into the party.
The statement therefore urged all PDP Leaders, and members to set aside all sentiments, resist rhetorics and commit themselves to the survival of the PDP in Edo State by electing a State Chairman and other party leadership that will be accountable and interest in the victory of the PDP in the 2020 Edo State Governorship Election.
