The Federal Government has reiterated commitment in creating more awareness, tackling stigmatization and increase access to drugs for persons living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.
the Director General National Agency for the Control of Aids NACA, Professor John Idoko represented by Hajia Mamuna Mohammed stated this today in Abuja at a sensitization meeting with representatives of states on the president’s comprehensive response plan PCRP for HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.

The sensitization meeting with representatives of states on the president’s comprehensive response plan, PCRP, for HIV/AIDS in Nigeria is aimed at rolling out a 2 year plan to tackle the problems of stigmatization of people living with HIV/AIDS, accessibility of antiretroviral drugs, sensitization on the causes and prevention of HIV/AIDS among others.
Speaking to Newsmen the Director General of NACA Professor John Idoko represented by the Director Partnership coordination and support NACA Hajiya Maimuna Mohammed reiterated the federal government’s commitment to check the HIV/AIDS scourge.
Hajiya Maimuna noted that about N200 billion is required to address the problem of HIV/AIDS within the next two years.
The response plan is expected to address the condition of about 3.5 million people living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria and to create awareness that will result to zero infection
