FG may not fully implement 2016 budget – SGF

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal, has said that the federal government may not fully implement the 2016 budget, owing to a sharp drop in revenue by over sixty percent.

Mr. Lawal made the remark before a Joint Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions and that of Appropriation and Finance.

He blamed the development on the activities of militants in the Niger Delta region.

He also stated that the oil benchmark of the federal government has been drastically affected by activities of militants, adding that the country was producing about eight hundred thousand barrels per day.
