FG Reconstitute Steering Committee on Public Service Reforms

The Federal Government has reconstituted the twenty four member steering committee headed by the secretary to the government of the federation to push for the success of the public service reforms.
The steering committee was first constituted in 2005 as the main supervisory body for the reform of the public service with membership drawn from across the federal public service.
Its mandate is to among other things provide technical leadership for reform, initiate action on reform and inform the Federal Executive Council on reform implementation efforts on a regular basis
Inaugurating the committee, the secretary to the government of the federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim said the inability of the committee on reforms to function well since 2008 has limited government capacity to provide coordinated technical leadership and effective monitoring and evaluation of all public service reform efforts.
The twenty four member steering committee has the secretary to the government of the federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim as chairman while the director general, Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Dr Joe Abah is the secretary.
