Flood disrupts socio-economic activities in Benin City

Rainfall which started in the afternoon today caught some Benin City residents napping.

Some Benin City residents put their umbrella up as a protection against the rain while others, who left their homes without umbrella were caught napping.

Eghosa Agbonlahor reports that Saturday rainfall with attendant problems affected traffic in parts of Benin City, especially Uselu area and Off Medical Stores Road.

Roads, which include TV Road and Benin-Lagos Road by S and T, Isihor and adjoining roads were also flooded owing to the rain.

Benin City residents are expectant as the Edo State Commissioner of Environment and Sustainability, Omoua Oni-Okpaku promised in previous interviews that the state government will soon tackle the problem of flood in the state.
