Attempts by some thugs to disrupt a rally by the Edo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, where the immediate past Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Itohan Osahon Ogbeide defected to the party was met with stiff resistance by members of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Best Mbiere reports that PDP State Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih accused the APC of sponsoring the thugs to intimidate the party, an attempt which he described as a huge failure.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Edo State, Barrister Anselm Ojezue says he is not aware of members of the APC invading any rally organized by the Peoples’ Democratic Party.
Speaking with Best Mbiere on the incident, the APC Chairman, however, said the exit of the former Council boss, Mrs. Itohan Osahon Ogbeide does not pose any threat to the strength of APC in Edo State.
He alleged that the defector betrayed the APC during the 2016 governorship election and she was sanctioned and that the party has nothing to lose with her exit.
That was the APC Chairman in Edo State, Barrister Anselm Ojezua addressing the allegations made by the Peoples Democratic Party.
