Gov. Obaseki signs Sexual Offenders Register into Law

In his desires to give voice to the victims of sexual abuse in Edo state, Governor Godwin Obaseki has signed into law, the State sexual offender register for the conviction of sexual offenders and gender based violence.

The ceremony also witnessed the launching of the Edo state’s first sextual assault referral center known as the Vivian center, to immortalize Vivian Ogu, a girl in the Catholic Church, who refused to be raped and was killed by some hoodlums in Benin few years ago and also give care to victims of sexual assault in Edo State.
