The Ahmed Makarfi -led Caretaker Committee of the People’s Democratic Party has slammed Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha for his comments on the party’s crisis.
Governor Okorocha had called on PDP members to stop heating up the polity by respecting the Court of Appeal judgment.
However, Makarfi camp spokesman Prince Dayo Adeyeye said Governor Okorocha’s statement did not come as a surprise.
Prince Dayo Adeyeye said Governor Okorocha’s is not known to be a person who exercises caution or restraint before making unguarded statements, pointing out that his constant vituperation on matters small or big, is indicative of an over-excited mind desperately in need of a large dose of tranquilizer.
The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, has said he is ready to vacate office after the national convention of the party, where new officers will be elected for the former ruling party.
He, however, warned governors, elected on the platform of the PDP, not to divide the party.
Meanwhile, Senator Makarfi has restated his plan to pursue the case to its logical conclusion.
