Chairman, Nigerian Economic Summit Group, NESG, Mr. Foluso Phillips has urged the Federal Government to ensure that the report on ongoing forensic investigation into missing oil funds is made public.
He made the call in Abuja at the opening of a three-day twentieth Nigerian Economic Summit.
Mr. Phillips commended the government for ordering the investigation and advised it to ensure that all persons involved in the controversy are made accountable.
The Chairman said Nigerians are anxious to ascertain the real facts of the alleged missing funds and the exact amount involved.
He said previous investigations into cases of impropriety in public places were inconclusive and urged the government to use the current one to reassure Nigerians on its determination to fight corruption.
Mr. Phillips also urged political officeholders to make national interest a priority, adding that they should not allow their personal interests in the forthcoming general elections to destroy the nation’s economy.
