House of Reps adjourns plenary until July 2

The House Representatives in its first plenary session as a Ninth assembly Presided over by Speaker Femi Gbajiabiamila passed a motion on the need to save the lives and property of Nigerians from Flood.

The resolution followed a motion moved by Representative Benjamin Kalu representing Bende federal constituency of Abia state.

The House reasoned that the menace of flood in the country has caused colossal damage hence the need to urgently act to put the situation under control.

The House also set up four adhoc committee on media, Rules and Business, welfare and Selection committee

The House later went into a closed session which lasted for over three hours before adjourning Plenary to 2nd July 2019
