Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega will supervise the conduct of the June twenty-one governorship poll in Ekiti State.
The INEC Chairman would be accompanied to Ekiti State by six National Commissioners and the Resident Electoral Commissioners in neighbouring states.
Ekiti State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Alilu Pai disclosed this in Ado-Ekiti when he received the NUJ and NBA Peace Initiative on Election.
He said Professor Jega’s decision to move to the state for the election was borne out of his commitment to conducting a credible poll.
Alhaji Pai said logistic arrangements for the poll have been concluded to ensure that cases of electoral materials arriving late at polling units would not arise.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner commended the efforts of interest groups as well as Non-Governmental Organizations in promoting activities aimed at entrenching democracy.
Chairman of Ekiti State council of the NUJ, Mr. Laolu Omosilade and NBA Chairman in that state, Mr. Omodele Olawuni pledged that the Organization would do its best to ensure the success of the election.
