Jonathan sets up committee on ICJ judgment on Bakassi peninsula

President Goodluck Jonathan has set up a committee to look at the option of appealing the judgment of the International Court of Justice on the Bakassi peninsula.

The decision was reached at a meeting between the President, the leadership of the National Assembly and other stakeholders at the State House in Abuja.

The governor of Cross River state, Liyel Imoke, disclosed to Newsmen after the meeting, that the committee will also consider how to take care of the displaced people of Bakassi, adding that the committee will work within a specified time.

He expressed his gratitude to the President who has shown great leadership quality by convening the meeting and standing firm on some of the decisions taken.
